As you can image, Beijing is a hotbed of some of the most amazing restaurants. The thing with being a yo-yo dieter, is that I've basically spent the last 3 years on a diet (and not re ally getting anywhere) so we've not tried the long list of restaurants that we've curated over the last 3 years.

Tips to Overcome January Blues

Oh January, I both love you and hate you in equal measures. I love that fresh feeling of a new year and an opportunity to start over. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m completely aware that I could do this on any of the other 365 days of the year, but there’s something particularly refreshing about January 1st, the start of a new year, the first page of your story.

Exploring Hou Hai Lake


During my time in Beijing I've heard about Hou Hai Lake, the giant lake that freezes over and Beijingers flock there to ice bicycle. Yep, you heard me right! They don't go there to ice-skate, they go to ride an ice bicycle #onlyinbeijing.

Winter Wonderland in Shine Hills


I’m the biggest Christmas lover you will probably ever meet. I won’t lie, Beijing’s lack of Christmas celebrations is one of the reasons that I made the decision to move back to the UK (although I’m not telling Paul that!) You literally would not know Christmas was happening in Beijing for the most part, but when they do decide to celebrate, they do the most random thing I’ve ever seen.
